With today's advanced computer and electronics capabilities, cylinder and container valves can be safely and remotely opened and closed with SCADA telemetry or in-plant computers. Robo-Control Inc., offers battery operated actuators for Chlorine, Sulfur Dioxide, and Ammonia vessels.

All actuators are designed for quick mounting and removal. All actuators have feedback potentiometers with indication of valve position and integral pushbuttons to open, close, and align the actuators.

Weighing in at less than 6 pounds, the Model RC is a close-only actuator for 150s and tons that responds to a leak detector, panic button, or other emergency device. The Model U and Model 2000C can have integral leak detectors and I/O for remote opening and closing of each valve.

All actuators are designed to meet the criteria of the "Recommendations for Emergency Actuators" by the Chlorine Institute.
